“What am I actually covered for?”
This is a very common question.
There are three main parts to the Homeowner’s policy. For tenants and condominium owners, just the contents and liability coverages apply:
Building/Dwelling
Covers the main dwelling, garage and any detached private structures (e.g. shed) on your property
Contents
Covers the personal items in your home. Your furniture, electronics, clothing - your possessions. Valuables such as jewellery and artwork may require additional coverage.
Liability
Protects you if you cause injury or damage to others or their property
